Aida Rojas Ebeling was born in Caracas, Venezuela. She graduated with a degree in Illustration from El Instituto de Diseño de Caracas.
Aida moved to New York in 1998, and graduated from the Pratt Institute with an MFA in Art Education and a Minor in Painting. While in New York, she had her thesis show at Pratt, as well as participated in a group show at the Venezuelan Consulate. She was an award recipient of a Summer Residency for Art Educators from Cooper Union, and participated in a group exhibit at the end of the residency.
Aida taught At The Buckley School in NYC where she was the Lower School art teacher for 7 years. While at Buckley, she started her own after school art program.
In 2008, her husband was offered an opportunity to work in Seattle, so she moved with her family to Kirkland. Aida worked part time at The Kirkland Art Center teaching Preschool Picassos, and also worked at various after school programs in Seattle and the surrounding area, including Smart with Art.
Aida is still busy raising her two daughters, Anna-Sofia and Isabella. Now that they are older, she has decided to follow her heart, and paint part time in her home studio in Kirkland.
In the Spring of 2019, she was invited to participate in a group show entitled “Latin Women Brushstrokes” and was 1 of 5 Latin women artists living in the Seattle area selected for the event.
Aida recently also started teaching art workshops for women at her house in Kirkland, and has found that experience enriching and rewarding.
